How to Choose Lighting For Your Home
A lot of people who are decorating or re-decorating their home spend a lot of time stressing about how to best incorporate light into their rooms. Many people struggle to decide between using primarily lamps or overhead lighting. The best option is to use a combination of several types of lighting.
One of the advantages of using lamps is that you can choose lamps and lamp shades that will fit in with your décor as well. If you choose overhead lighting, you won’t have that added design element. Try to chose lamp styles that will fit in with the overall décor of your home but will also make their own statement. This will add the most dimension to your lighting.
You’ll want to consider both floor lamps and table lamps. If you have a combination of the two working for your in one room, you can easily adjust the lighting depending on what you’re using the room for at the time. For example, if you have a den with a variety of lighting types, you can use fewer light sources when you want a quiet evening at home and more light sources when you have a large party and want the room to be bright and inviting.
